We recently had the distinct pleasure of spending a half hour with Heather Lou, founder and director of Closet Case Patterns. Heather has taken her business from her first pattern, the Bombshell swimsuit back in 2013 to the extensive line of 23 patterns, 7 supply kits and 4 online classes she offers today. We think you will thoroughly enjoy learning more about her journey and her company. And lest you think her patterns are only for the younger set, here are a few pictures of some of the patterns I personally have made. Whether you are Gen X, Millennial, or a Boomer, I think you will find something you love.
Loved the interview. Heather is such a dynamic individual and so well-rounded in what she has brought to the sewing community. I also loved her commitment to avoiding the fast fashion industry along with her commitment to addressing the needs of very large women. I have the Kelly Coat pattern in the muslin stage right now. Seeing this interview has made me want to get to it! Thanks for introducingus to the person behind Closet Case Patterns.
So glad you enjoyed her interview. She really was fantastic to talk to and as you know, I am a huge fan of her patterns!!
I love your interviews! I scored a bunch of Liberty Lawn on sale that I’m using to make Caroline Pajamas ( shorts version) for my girls and nieces and my sister for Xmas. That’s 7 pair (and then I need a set!! ) I’m ambitious right now so let’s hope I can carry the momentum thru the summer! They have all learned fast fashion doesn’t last and it’s so nice to have well drafted patterns to help us along.
So glad you are enjoying them. We have several lined up and hope to provide a variety of people and topics as long as we can. I hope you will share pix of all these PJs. You have quite an ambitious task ahead but one you will no doubt conquer well.
