At the Plano ASG chapter, we have so many talented members. Member Debby B. agreed to teach us her secrets for creating jeans that no one will believe you made yourself!
In August we had two Jeans Techniques Workshops held at the “Best Little Retreat Center” where attendees learned all the steps to making a RTW looking pair of jeans. As stated by one of the attendees, “The workshop took the fear out of making a pair of jeans.”
Topics covered included perfect topstitching, pockets and more pockets, rivets, jeans zippers and that how to sew a not so bulky fly, and the best distressing techniques ever!
We enjoyed a full day of learning and working together. By the end of the workshop, everyone had a small-sized, one leg sample of a pair of jeans. We now have the skills. Now, to just get a pattern fitted and time to sew – ahh – a great project for the sewing retreat! As an enticement to attend our winter retreat, Debby has offered to help anyone who needs fitting assistance for their own perfect pair of jeans.
