Social media… to some it is a dirty word; to some it is their source of connection; and to some it is a word you don’t quite understand yet. We get that! And since a lot of chapter news published this year has been on social media, we wanted to provide a little bit of information to help you find it.

If you don’t have an account, it is easy to set one up. Here are a few tips.

To use either Facebook or Instagram on your phone or tablet, you will need to download an app. Go to the app store and search for Facebook or Instagram to find and download the app. If you have already set up your account before you download the app, all you need to do is login to use it.
To regularly see our social media posts you need to follow us.
- On Facebook, go to our page. Find it with the link above or search inside Facebook for Plano Chapter American Sewing Guild. Click on the “LIKE” button to follow us and see our posts in your personal feed.
- On Instagram, go to our profile. Find it with the link above or search inside Instagram for planoasg. Once you see us, just click on the “FOLLOW” button to see us in your feed. You can also follow any post flagged with our hashtag by searching for #planoasgsews and clicking the “FOLLOW” button. If you post sewing pictures on your own Instagram account and use either @planoasg or #planoasgsews in your caption, we can find it too!

Social media participation is a personal choice each of us makes based on our own comfort level. There is no one-size-fits-all decision and it may not be for everyone. And it is not the only way to connect with Plano ASG! But since we have begun using it to share news about our chapter, we want to help anyone who has the interest take that step. We hope these tips help any of you who would like to make the choice to follow ASG news on social media.
